The past few days I haven’t felt the best so I did what I always do when I’m under the weather. I grab my favorite mug and fill it with peppermint mocha flavored coffee, grab a good book, my comfy p.j.’s, and a blanket. Everyone in my house knows when they see that combo it means I’m not feeling good and to approach with caution….lol.

Christmas Gift

This time I decided I was tired of reading the same books over and over again so I got a new one. I read “A Father for Christmas (A Holiday Romance)”.  I am glad I went out of my usual genre to read this book. I couldn’t put it down once I started reading it.  It wasn’t overly sappy with the romance, which is usually why I stay away from romance novels. The author had me laughing and crying as the story developed. It is also the type of story I would watch as a Lifetime Movie or even a Hallmark Movie. It was the feel good type that everyone can’t help but fall in love with.

In the book, 4 year old Bree, asks Santa for a Papa for Christmas. Her mom, Kelly, doesn’t think she needs a man in her life, and tries to make excuse and tries to claim that Bree asked for a puppy. Santa promises Bree that her Papa would be under the tree on Christmas morning. Tyler, a homeless war vet, over hears Bree talking to Santa and sets out to get into her’s and Kelly’s lives. Just one thing, Tyler suffers from a major case of PTSD. Kelly isn’t sure she should trust Tyler around her daughter, or get her daughters hopes up for a Papa. Kelly also has a skeleton in her closet too. She spent time in jail for insider trading. As the story progresses both Tyler and Kelly realize they both need a second chance at life and happiness. Kelly realizes that maybe, just maybe, she does need a man in her life. Not because she is weak, but because she is strong, strong enough to be there for Tyler and be his steady rock. Both Tyler and Kelly help each other become better people and in turn making a family for Bree.
